Vivienne I admire you so much! Wherever I find you online you are always so consistent – gentle, wise, articulate, fun and playful, and so talented. I always think I would love to know you in person. Maybe you won’t necessarily see this about yourself the way I do, but you really are an inspiration to me. I wish you lived closer as I’d like you to photograph me for my website – I can’t think of anyone else I’d want to do it! I enjoyed this interview a great deal – fabulous questions!

Sure, me, too – playfulness has been on my mind for a while. I think that part of what I want to do with my life is create spaces – groups, workshops, classes, etc. where both the dark and light aspects of our lives can be held. I’m not sure what it will look like yet, but it will involve the arts for sure. Feel free to email me at sflear@gmail.com

I would think that being a therapist you’d have to hold a lot of seriousness for people and I love that you crave to share that lightness too.

I think that that whimsy and wonder are often seen as something that is silly, or a waste of time…but for me it has always been a really sacred thing, a place of freedom from the aspects of my life where I feel contained or trapped.

We need to those places outside of the hard times where we can just forget and be in the moment with the creative muse, like we might have done when we were kids.

I feel like whimsy and seriousness are intertwined and I would LOVE to chat with you more about this!

Oh, I so want that to be my superpower, too – whimsy and delight, whimsy and wonder. Thank you, this interview helped me articulate something that I’ve been struggling with. I’ve been trying to figure out (and I’m still not probably finished) why I struggle with the idea of being a therapist (which is what I am, or do), and it has something to do with being too serious all my life. I want to be a spreader of whimsy and beauty, not seriousness (much as that’s needed sometimes). Not sure how to do that yet, but I took a little tiny step in my mind toward it b/c of this interview. I love Vivienne’s work, too, just exactly b/c of her whimsy.
